battery life

What kind of battery life can I expect from trail ,have not bought one yet,wouod leave out from 4july to labor day.

Depends on the camera and how many pictures it takes each day. Most cameras will last 2 months easily, if it's just on a trail and not a bait pile.

Look at Cabelas- they have a Bushnell on sale for $80 after the $30 rebate from Bushnell. That's about half price and Bushnell is known for long battery life.

Im assuming you mean trail camera.  It depends on the activity, settings on the camera and brand.

I had my little Bushnells out. Settings were High quality, 8mp, 1 picture, 30 second delay, no video from 6/4/13 till 9/14/13, they took +/- 1200 pictures each and they are all at 3/4 battery life or thereabouts. They take 8 AA batteries each.

I used my bushnell all summer on the AA batteries, probably took around 5k pics and they are still going.  The wildgame innovations camera that a friend had out lasted 4.5 months..I bet in cold weather they may not last as long.

I think more than anything it depends on the quality of battery you put in it.I only use Duracell camera batteries in my electronics now,and they last about 2 months in my trail cam with 1000s of (mostly useless lol) pics.

thanks, it worked.  thought it would be that one.  only thing with that one is that it only takes up to a 4gig sd card.  the $99 wally world one takes a 32 gig, better deal i think, especially if youre inclined to leave cams out for long periods of time as i am.

that would be the browning range ops?  that is a really low price, but i recently bought one and have two problems with it.  one is that the pics are almost all fuzzy and blurry, and the review on trailcampro backs this up.  apparently the initial models had really crisp pics but the more recently manufactured ones are fuzzy.  another is that about 70-80% of my daytime photos are in black and white infrared for no apparent reason.

If it's in a nice warm place just about any camera last's a couple month's, now get cold weather and it sucks the life out of batteries fast! I like to keep cameras out at the cabin all year long but the winters in Winthrop cost me a camera a or two a year it's just to cold for long periods. I'm thinking about a security system (6 camera) would last longer and in the long run save me money on batteries and cameras (get charged a min. elect bill whether I use the power or not). Does anyone use a 12V motorcycle or lawnmower battery on their cameras?

My Bushnell trophy cam is doing that. It's frustrating, but not as much as the white outs it's starting to do also.

i have one of the bushnell 8mp trophy cams, the cabelas model, but am just now trying it out.  i have a lot of the bushnell x-8s tho and theyre really good.  the only one thing i dont like about them is that the threading for the swivel mounts is on the wrong part of the cvam, makes it so you have to move the whole thing to swap cards and then realign it.   they function better than others ive tried, and i recently tried raising my cams from 12 feet up to 17 feet, and the only ones that worked well at that height were the x-8s.  i decided to drop them back to 12 tho, even the ones that work at 17
