Early Mule deer rubbing
« on: July 27, 2015, 03:05:57 PM »
Checked on some cams this weekend and found an approximately 1 week old rubbed tree with a small pile of velvet under it. Rub was 10 yards behind cam, but never got a ragged or clean buck on the cam(multiple bucks still in velvet though )
Earliest I have ever seen a buck rub velvet in this area. It is going to be an Interesting season ahead of us this year.

Not to thread jack but out checking cams I saw an elk rub from this year and the weirdest part was that it was over 8 foot up the tree. You could see the tracks and dirt kicked up on the ground at the base of the tree and then the rub way up high. That would have been fun to watch.
