Dividing trail cam shots from traditional photography?
« on: November 15, 2015, 04:50:02 PM »
Hey folks,

Just curious if it's ever been discussed. I'll often spend a lot of time on here digging through different photo threads you guys put up, but I think now maybe more than half are trail cam shots. I love good trail cam shots for what they are but I really admire a lot of you photographers out there and would love an easier way to follow. Any thoughts? Just my  :twocents:, which aren't worth very much!

This site used to have a separate tcam section, then they combined the two.  I liked it better when it was separated.

They are separate, there's a major trail cam contest every year :)

As others have said, they used to be separate boards. There wasn't enough individual traffic for each board to justify keeping them as such, unfortunately. In an effort to streamline the forum and make it more user friendly and more importantly faster, there were a few boards that got combined.

Everybody who has responded to this thread seems to want them seperated again.  Whats more user friendly than setting things up the way users want?

7 members out of 19,829. Regardless, it's not something I can do, just answering the OP's question. There was a large forum reform about a year ago (do you remember when the forum had MAJOR issues and was down for weeks at a time?) and this was one of the solutions to the problems so there wasn't overloaded servers. I doubt it'll be separate again  :dunno: but aside from that maybe more OPs could start specifying in their own posts "Trail Cam" or such as they start their threads. That is if the members themselves read this.

I never said a majority of members, i said everybody who responded to this thread.  I think its a good idea to keep the posts from us untalented trail cam hacks seperated from the stuff from guys like boneaddict who have actual talent  :chuckle:

If that were the case, we'd have to have 3 separate boards - one strictly for those 5 or so absolute photography pros we have on the site, trail cameras, and then everyone else lol
