Cooper Firearms of Montana, Reviews???
« on: December 05, 2015, 04:46:57 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with Cooper Firearms?  Do you shoot hand loads or factory ammo?    I am thinking about getting a Jackson Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor

Yeah, heard of him.  The Owner supported Obama for president.  I'm not 100% percent sure that he still has interest in the company but.....

RBros are a sponsor here, check them out.

They build a pretty awesome wood rifle. They shoot the test target @ 50 yards so keep that in mind. They are priced amazingly well for the wood you get most of the time.

On the synthetic side, I'm not particularly fond of anything that are fond of in terms of stocks, colors and finishes....but to each his own.

I've owned a couple, excellent rifles.

Never owned one. Friends have them. Very nice rifle. Kinda known for the nice wood.

Never thought they were well finished when it came to the metal work, a little rough around the edges so to say. Never cared for the synthetic versions but as mention above, some have incredible wood for the price. If I was to purchase another in wood. I wouldn't order it, I would want to visit a shop or several shops that had some on hand so I could look at each stock and choose which I found more attractive. When ordering one in, you get what you get.

Gunbroker would be another option. Usual they have multiple pictures form different angles. So one could get a idea of the wood stocks character.

Hopefully he doesn't have any ownership left in the company.  I liked this quote from the article......

Cooper said, "I don't believe that what's being said about Obama and his policies about guns are accurate. I have had a conversation with the senator … he is a stanch supporter of the right to hunt and the right to bear arms."

Apparently after supporting Obumble Dan Cooper's own company told him to hit the road.

Who cares who the owner supports what does his personal political views have to do with making firearms.  Thats the problem with this country right now.  The problems in our country aren't democratic or republican problems.

No.... The problem is in your first sentence. That's the problem with America and the passive, tolerant mindset of the many.

Maybe someone wouldn't want to give their hard earned money to someone who is going to turn around and give some of it to Obama or his like.
