Thankfully the guy we went with had a waterproof case on his phone. I don't know what we would have done otherwise.

Yes we are, thankfully no one panicked and all worked together to make it back, but water
proof case is a must!

Overloaded boat?  To small for the condition?

I'm curious as to the type and size of boat? Was everyone wearing a PFD?  These are not inended as bashing questions, FYI.

RevWrangler - are you the one I spoke to this morning asking if you were waiting for Leon? You responded that you were waiting for the guy that just pulled up. I then wished you and your wife good luck. I was the first truck/boat/trailer there this morning. Yellow lab w/me and buddy. That you guys???
Where exactly did ya lose your stuff. I'd look for it and keep a good eye out in the future if I knew the location.

With the huge tide changes and high winds, it's not too likely anything will stick around.  It might if it blew to shore quickly, I guess.  We'll keep an eye out for it here in the San Juans.   :)

Nope to both, conditions were perfect when we went out, water was flat, no wind, and not overloaded.

That was me. We had head up Mcallister creek. So an immediate right out of the boat launch.

How did you guys do out there today?

Sounds like a perfect day.... Except for the part about four people almost dying.

We didn't do worth a darn. Nothing flyin.

I'd get my butt back out there asap tomorrow at low tide and do a little searching for gear. And good luck if you do.
Never underestimate mother nature and as far as McAllister Cr goes, ever since the refuge built that huge pier and breeched all the dikes, there's no small, calm water any place out there any more. Glad you guys are all safe.

Well that's lame, after we took a spill the least you could have done was limited out:)
