Wow.  I am guessing that one filled the trap up.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting.

Thankfully it was one of my large model traps. 12x20x42

Otherwise he would have had to duck a long ways. He was mean to my trip rod and wire trigger. The 18# female from last month made me think the traps were bullet proof but this guy proved me wrong

Nah, fur market or soft tan.  He's a rare big cat so I really want to keep him but he'll fetch a decent amount so IDK.

Very nice cat! He will do very well at auction if that is the route you decide to take.

Beautiful Bobcat!

I know nothing about trapping or value of a skin.
What does a cat like that go for on the market?

Hard to say based on grading and the strength of the market/bobcats specifically.

$300 plus imho. I've seen smaller cats go for $800 though with that pale spotted wide belly and heavy fur

Trying to not think about it because I've elected for a soft tan with paws attached

Sell that sucker and use the money to buy more traps so you can catch all his offspring. :chuckle:

$300 is an everyday event. That's more than likely a once in a lifetime cat. I vote you keep it.

That's crazy big for a bobcat! Nice!
Personally, I would keep it. Worst case, it's still worth a decent amount whether it goes to auction or you find a buyer yourself. I think a jumbo cat would look awesome on the wall with a basic rug mount.
