It could be for a lot of things...lol. But was it from Utah fish and game that the charge came from🤔Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

I'm thinking I'll just pass, Idaho will be my go to non resident hunt, with no points game to play I'll feel much better about it. I do appreciate all the help though and wish you guys lots of luck! Those permits looks crazy hard to draw, I hope your all young guys with lots of time to kill. Utah has been one of those states I’ve been avoiding, I think my mindset on it was mostly colored by the fact that Utah is the motherland for all anti public land and anti North American model policies. Then a buddy texted me the other day asking me how the Utah draw worked for deer. I looked into the general deer hunts and the prices and at that point I almost couldn’t help but jump in. Utah has the cheapest points in the West, if I figure I spent $155 for 9 points this year and I spend another $90 for 9 points next year they come out to about $13.61 each, now if I play my cards right I might get lucky and hit an OIL tag at some point in my life and if not I should be able to grab a general deer tag any year I feel like, probably do 1 or 2 pronghorn tags and a couple of lower tier LE deer and elk tags before I’m too old to do this anymore(I’ve probably got at least 35 good years left in me). When I compare it to my choice to jump into Nevada’s points game 2 years ago I feel much better about Utah actually, in Nevada I got 4 points last year and each one cost me $51.25, I’m hoping that this year with their new 365 day license I’ll be able to grab points without paying the $155 license but I don’t think it’s gonna work. If so I’ll probably ditch Nevada as the sunk cost will just be too much for me to justifySent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I get your math on cost but do you think a general tag or lower tier le unit will be any better than investing that time and money in Idaho? I am not sure those kind of tags would be any better than what we can do otc? This is what I struggle with every year especially when you consider knowledge of your hunting area which for me has been huge factor in success. I am not sure it’s worth it unless you could get a premium tag which I don’t think I could ever catch up in my lifetimeI look at it as an opportunity to add more hunting to my calendar, fairly close to home, maybe the hunting won’t be better than Idaho but a guy can only do so much here in IdahoSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t want this to come off the wrong way and want different viewpoints as I am slowly adding in some out of state draws. We can shoot 2 deer,2 elk, 2 bear, 2 lions and unlimited bobcats(in season) unlimited coyotes and I can legally tag 10 wolves. Not to mention 5 turkey s ,ducks etc. do you really need another tag out of state that might be of equal or less quality than what you can do here? I hunt all seasons in Idaho and was thinking you focus on deer? Just trying to put it together on these out of state apps and what makes sense for me. Seems like a lot of hype surrounding the western states apps which I understand for someone in New Jersey just not sure it makes sense for Idaho residents. I can easily get caught up in the hype

I can easily get caught up in the hypeI love Idaho, I think it's one of, if not the most hunter friendly state in the nation with more opportunity than any other lower 48 state. You are being smart, you should be careful with other state draws, go for the hunts that will give you a chance at a real good bull or don't bother, the same is true with deer!
