Novice hunter
« on: November 24, 2019, 12:37:54 AM »
I’ve been spending a lot of time at the Skookumchuck wildlife area mostly fishing and hiking around. Tomorrow I’m trying my hand at pheasant hunting at the release site. No dog no partner just gonna see if I can turn anything up. I’m looking for some people to show me and a buddy the ropes with bird hunting and potential offer some advice on big game. I am a novice hunter but could at the very least be a pack mule, also a full time cook who can break down meat quick and clean.

How long you lived in wa state
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

I am always looking for someone to experience and learn some new areas. I have put my bio out on here so many times but... I enjoy just getting out. With harvesting, whatever the quarry may be the main goal. I live in northeast Tacoma. Finding people that I can match up my schedule is tough although I will try my best. Last night I went squid jigging till about 1, caught 6. This is kinda my style. I am random and enjoy learning. I have hunted anything legal since I was 11. No mentors really just go and figure it out. Not always successful but lessons learned. I grew up in central Missouri and relocated her last September. Bought the combo big game and tried to hunt each of them. I didnt take off any amount to designate for the season though. I did finaklky run into a really nice black bear. Problem was it was a day after season closed. I have some experiewnce pheasant hunting in MO although it was at game farms where they released birds that you then hunted. Sadly that is all the game bird hunting left in MO besides turkey. If your interested into going on a adventure sometime or even coffee or a cocktail before heading out with some stranger let me know.
While inexperienced, a open mind, a will to learn, and the drive to achieve what you dream about. You can do anything. Persistence is key. Some dream of wealth or material things. I dream of experiences and wild places
