Oh yeah now we’re talking. What calibers you running bango?

Left to right, a remlin .357, winchester .308, winchester .308, marlin .30-30, remlin .444

Did you put the new stock on the 88?  The one I got from my dad was cracked in the ususal spot.  I bought a laminate from Boyds; it was quite a chore to fit.  Sand, measure, repeat.

Yeah its a boyds pepper laminate.  Back when the hancock land by my house was open to motorized vehicles i was running the logging roads on my quad looking for lion tracks in the snow.  Forgot to put the rubber straps on, hit a bump and the rifle went flying off the front of my quad and i ran over it and busted the stock.  :bash:

I may regret starting this thread.  I’m itching to go spend some more money on lever guns.

Just found out henry is making .45-70, .357,  44 mag, .45lc, .410 with synthetic stocks, threaded barrel, and underside picatinny rail.  And i kinda want the .44.  It has a 20 twist, way faster than marlins .44s, so it should shoot the heavy hard cast rounds a lot better.  Do i really need it or have a use for it?  No.  But i still kinda want one.

Nice rifle.  I'd love to get one of those some day.  My 356Win can do most of what the 348 can, but I still really want one of those Winchester 71s.....

Now don’t let the anti-gunners get a look at those scary black lever guns. Pretty soon they’ll be wanting to ban “tactical” large loops and “battle style” peep sites.

Bango have you had problems with 1:38 twist marlins and 300 grain bullets stability?  Just curious as I may soon pick up an 1894 cowboy in 44 mag. Will probably stick with the 240’s but might want the option to throw the 300’s someday.
