So california, a state infested with lions, wants to further protect them by limiting development so that southern california can also be infested with lions.  Amazing.  I really put no level of stupidity past those people.  But hey, maybe if the socal lion population explodes theyll get a taste for illegals.  Let the lions guard our border.

The California stupidity is kinda dizzying... saying "genetically distinct" is like saying your parents' offspring are genetically distinct! Duh! But you're not the last of a species!

At least they admitted to having about 6000 lions. I'm sure there are more, but it's better than having 6000 and saying you have 3500.

A family of 20 lions?  A freeway an impenetrable barrier?  The writer, did not say reporter, and the people providing the information really should get out more.

If they need more lions, just take some of ours.  Please.  Could take a few hundred from the peninsula without them being missed.

Sounds a bit like "South Sound Orcas" being endangered! Just call them something a little different and all of a sudden endangered! :bdid:

A family of 20 lions actually made me laugh. If it wasn’t so stupid I guess it would be funny. They are screwed down there with that way of thinking

I wonder what the new narrative will be now that the attacks on children are on the rise. They usually mention the rarity of attacks and "urban sprawl" invading "their" habitat. With more frequent attacks in rural and urban environments it's time to come up with a new common sense statement to regurgitate every time someone brings up predetor management.

Common sense is irrelevant, only emotions matter.
