Any reports out of Westport yet? Our property should be done this week so the boss and I are getting ready to move down there. I almost have the boat done and looking forward to some water time.

Salmon is hit and miss. Mostly out deep..Tuna are getting closer, about 45-50 miles right now. Weather has been a factor.

Went out this weekend, charters all said Tuna way out - 80 + miles.  Did well on cod and rock fish.  Wanted to Salmon but WDFW has Friday/Saturday closed for recreational salmon fishing.
June 29-Sept 30: Open five days per week (Sun-Thur); closed to salmon fishing Fri-Sat. Daily limit 2.
What sense does this make  :bash:

Tuna are way out there, 80+ miles. There may be some smaller schools closer but the commercial fleet has been way out there. Salmon are being caught but not gang busters by any means. Sea bass and ling are good like always and hali opens on the 6th I believe.

I believe the charter boat captains pushed for that season to extend the quota so they could run more trips.

It's the new conservation policy, make it as hard as possible to get out and fish.  Maybe they'll have another summer chinook opener in December, but only on Tuesdays.
