Duck/Geese guide wanted
« on: October 06, 2020, 06:16:37 PM »
I’m in west side willing to drive 2-3hr. Looking for reputable guide that can set 1 person. It doesn’t matter if I’m alone or with other group. I need guarantee place and date. I understand it’s not easy, but it’s possible.

Thanks in advance.

I would look at Big Guns Waterfowl. Bill Saunders is a stud. I don't think you would be disappointed.

Eagle Lakes. Reasonable if you don’t spend the night.

Good idea, I don’t have any waterfowl staff to DIY.

I did hunt with Rick today. No regrets at all, nice guy and very good at communication. Very competitive price without driving for 3 hours. Rick have everything ready blind, decoys etc. It absolutely no need to show up at 5am to help guide set up decoys, blind and pick tumbleweed for cover. Weather let us down today, no wind no clouds. Geese where flying too high, but Rick was able to pull it in. I’m very happy with my hunting experience. Definitely be back when weather turn nasty.

Yes weather timing can be a challenge, but glad you had a good hunt experience.

Also doesn't help that some of his spots just don't hunt unless you have wind, weather or later in the season.  That's the big difference in regards to KWTH fields vs. east side.  The ones on the east side hunt well, well rested and you get a morning flight vs. the birds just flying to the bay on calm days and sitting all day.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
