Definitely more NE than NY. Lots of cream, but also a can of diced tomatoes and some paste. A couple diced jalapeños for some heat.

Never heard or thought of a salmon chowder...interesting. I usually smoke the piss out of pinks and mix with mayo for a salmon dip on Ritz crackers
