Big blacktail big antelope
« on: March 25, 2023, 07:00:10 PM »
Been pretty busy, like every taxidermist in western WA. I wanted to share a couple of my recent favorite pieces. I feel blessed to do what I love!

Beautiful taxidermy! What is your turnaround on mounts right now and are you taking new clients?

If I remember right I believe thatís a Thurston county blacktail. Right now I am at about 18 months turn around. Been working to get it back down to 12 months but itís been pretty tough going. I am trying not to take any new clients unless they really like my work and are ok with a longer than normal turn around.

Beautiful mounts!  That Blacktail is one fine lookin' deer!

Gary
One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset
