So the rotti pup just walked up to the back door with this.  I don't know mushrooms, so does it seem to be a morel?

Stem and cap one piece. No white cotton looking stuff in the middle. Looks like a morel to me.

Wow! I would encourage them to find more and go after "Truffles" too (and to think Rotti's aren't even on the list).

Found em.  Right behind the grill.  That's convenient!  They're a little old now.  I'll have to watch for them next April...

Should I cut them off at the stem, or pull them, or just leave them to have more next year?

It doesn’t really matter.

If you are not going to eat them, you could move them to another likely spot where they might grow.

That's a rabbit hole for sure....so many differing thoughts on it...
What I do know is morels can be temperamental and just cuz they are there one year doesn't mean they'll return.

I've tried spore slurries and moving mycelium... I have found it's "lighting strikes" with those guys...
Unless you find a "natural" patch. Those can produce every year...

I'm not moving them.  We'll just see how the patch grows (or doesn't) next year.   :IBCOOL:
