Woo hoo! Gardner Quality Tag (again)!
« on: June 14, 2023, 03:52:51 PM »
I must be living right, because I just drew the Gardner Quality Deer tag again!  I drew it in 2018, so only had 5 points this year.  I've got a cabin in the unit and am there every couple of weeks, so I'll start my scouting and ramp up my workouts right away.

The deer population in the unit is way down, but it will be fun to hunt the rut with hardly anyone around.  I ate the tag last time.  There was no snow and no migration.  I passed on decent bucks almost every day, holding out for the "one" buck of my lifetime that never appeared.  I need to think through my approach for this season.

It would be great to trade notes with the other tag holders.

This must be my day.  I'm off to buy a lottery ticket.

Congrats on the nice draw. Sounds like you'll get the most out of it.

Perhaps you could let fellow tag holders stay at your cabin with you during the hunt!! :chuckle: :chuckle:
