Replacing Muzzy Loads

I loaded my Knight DISC a couple weeks ago. Two triple 7 pellets and a powerbelt. Taped the barrel with electrical tape and did not get rained on or anything like that the next few days while hunting.

Going back out again this weekend and the same load it in there. Should I replace it with new powder at least?

I always do, but I probably overthink it. I figure you work hard for the opportunity of a shot and you need everything to go right

I've left loads in for months and they functioned fine.   But always at end of season.

I ALWAYS try to hunt with a fresh charge.
It just makes sense to me.

I would fresh charge. All you are out is a little powder.

I never go more than 2 days. Bullets and powder are cheap compared to a lost opportunity. I also hunt with a T/C black diamond  and they can gum up with dust on the action.

There’s no reason you should need to specially if it wasn’t raining hard. I load my gun at the beginning of the season and shoot it at an animal or the next fall when checking my zero. Never any issues hunting the rainy west side.

There’s only one way to know for sure. You’re probably fine.

I use pellets in my bighorn and always change them out after each hunt, cheap insurance to have the gun go bang.
If I am using my Accura with Blackhorn 209 I will go multiple days without changing.

This for me too. 

Only time I've had a dud charge was when I mixed up my cappers.  I had one that I hadn't used in at least 20 years that I found at the bottom of my muzzleloader dry storage box that still had caps in it.  For some reason I grabbed that one instead of the one with fresh musket caps in it.  Pulled up on a whopper Blacktail at the tail end of late Muzzleloader season... pulled the trigger and got a "'pffftt... nothingburger" instead of the usual "bang, BOOM".

If you stored it anywhere where it could have absorbed some moisture from the air through the cap hole, than your powder could be compromised. If at all unsure, I always recommend changing your load to make sure and for peace of mind.

My thoughts exactly.  It would only take one bull getting away to make you regret not taking the 3 minutes required to reload.

I just hate "wasting" bullets and powder. Though the bullet might be reusable.
