I tell everyone I'm not a glock guy.... they are pretty plain, utilitarian, don't have great ergonomics, definitely don't feel the best in my hands, the sights suck.

Then again, they are the most reliable and arguably the toughest gun out there. I carry a G20 in the woods and the thing looks like its been drug behind a truck and will probably always have it.   Get the Glock

I have had most gens of Glock in the 10mm. All have been shooters. In the G40 I added a 3 lb trigger and that helped. I also have a kimber 10mm and while it’s a great looker it is totally unreliable. It is less reliable than Kimbers customer service. For defensive purposes I like the g20 and 29 best though the 29 can be a bit much to hold onto with full power loads.

I have a Springfield Elite.  Has a match grade trigger. So far pretty happy with it.  I like the added piece of mind of the back strap safety. For carrying one in the chamber.

I bought a G20  a few years ago and read about some Glocks having unsupported chambers for ease of feeding.  With the unsupported chambers brass was blowing out or deforming which will weaken the brass from reloading.  I bought a new after market stainless barrel and compared the two with ball gauges and a micrometer.  The original barrel was a lot looser.  I felt more secure using the after market barrel and don't have any issues with feeding.  I love my 10mm G20 and carry it mostly

A few years back I sure wanted a 10mm. I really would have liked H&K to have had a 10mm in the HK45 frame. I liked the fit, finish and feel of the HK45 so much, it swayed me away from looking at other 10mm pistols. After looking over the HK45, suddenly 45acp was an acceptable cartridge to rule out any further search for a 10mm. I think that H&K would have a winner if they made a 10mm pistol with a similar fit & finish to the HK45. All that said, I've heard a lot of positives about the Springfield XDM 10mm.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

I am a Glock fan myself. I have a couple. I have the 29, 20, 20C, and 40. I carried the 40 last year while archery hunting only because it is the MOS and I ran it with the Holosun SCS. I wish they would have made it in the 5-1/4" barrel like the model 41 (45 ACP) as that is a good size.

For me it is hard to beat 15 rnd. mags with +2's for 17 + 1 rnds. of Double Tap 200 gr. WFNGC with a green dot, Fiber optic front sight in a easy to reach Kenai Chest rig.

Colt delta elite hasn't let me down yet. (biased because Colt is my namesake). I think it is more relevant now than it was before the magazine ban. If you're limited to ten rounds now, the glock is less appealing. I'm also a sucker for 1911 controls. Also, the minute man ammo 10mm hollow points are very effective on black bears

I have shot a few but I really like the G20.  The XDM is why I switched because the ergonomics fit my hand better with the Glock.  I did some upgrades that I feel helped a bit.

I added/swapped the following:
Trijicon HD XR Night Sights
Talon Pro Grips
Razco Chest Holster
NDZ Guide Rod w/ 22lb Spring
NDZ Slide Extended Slide Release
Vickers Extended Take Down Lever
:yeah:  Same NDZ upgrades  world of difference. I'm going to add not sure I'd trust my holosun on my bear gun never know it has never failed on my 17 but I much prefer my ghost site on my 20 anything in center mass is toast. Also watch Hickok45 on YouTube for ammo recommendations heavy grain buffalo bore will tumble out of the stock  g20 barrell. Never have any issues with underwood 200 gr.hardcast.
}---->$  Always on the money with the Mathews DLD/V3X

G40 mos with a trijicon rmr. Goes on the chest every time I go into the woods and never had an issue. I bought it when they first came out 8ish years ago and haven’t found an option to make me want to replace it yet.

Do you turn your RMR on before you go in the woods so it’s ready to go or just turn it on as needed?
I run the dual illuminated model so it’s always on, no batteries to worry about.

Anyone have any input on the Sig Sauer p320 X-TEN versus the Glock 20? I’m in the market for a 10mm too.

No first hand experience but everyone seems to love them. Reports of some that are picky on ammo and some aren’t.

I bought the XDM Elite(3.8) 10mm and M&P (4.6) 10mm pre magazine ban.  Both are great and have run flawless with everything from VERY light hand loads to underwood 200 grain hard cast....not one failure to date out of either.  I don't shoot a lot but each probably has 250+ rounds down the pipe.  I like the grip safety for holstering the XDM safely on my pack belt; but my favorite by far is the M&P for shooting, ergonomics, comfort, secure grip.  The M&P 10mm has me considering trading my Glock 17 for an M&P 9mm.  It just fits, feels, and looks great!  Love the Red Dot on it with the suppressor height sights too!
