I can't believe I hunted for so long with cheap boots now that I have Kennetreks. I did have issues with heal rubbing as soon as I stepped off of the trail with my Kennetreks. But that was easily fixed with wearing some "second skin" or blister tape on my heal for the first 4 or 5 times I wore them. Now its fine.
The insoles are just as important as the boot. Randy Newberg has a whole segment on how important orthotics are to him. Switching from a lightweight boot like an Irish setter to a sturdy boot like a kennetrek or crispi is the best thing you can do for your feet if you're serious about hunting.
Sheep feet custom insoles have been good to me. They send you a piece of foam that you step in to make and imprint of your foot then you send it back and in a couple of weeks you have custom insoles. Not are what they cost, I paid for them with my HSA.https://sheepfeetoutdoors.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_qexBhCoARIsAFgBlevkvOm4Y9SnNCud7F9e00rbnn5lZCG2I0KolGgWseujgo4yGM2QnlwaAsxaEALw_wcB
