Gonna follow along on this one, during Covid when flights were real cheap I was gonna go but ended up fishing in the Keyes instead.
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

There are some great hunts in Hawaii, if you can find the right folks to take you out.  Molokai Island Axis bucks are a very accessible hunt.  The Big Island of Hawaii offers everything from upland game to feral bulls in thick jungle!  Contact the Parker Ranch for coordination.  Those are the only two I've ever paid for, but pig hunting on any of the islands is readily available if you have a local guide.  A very challenging hunt.

I usually delete my posts after two days.

There is a lot of hunting available on the islands.  Just depends if you are looking to do DIY or book with an outfitter.

Going to try and go diy will probably stick to archery equipment. Very hard to try and read about the rules. Some islands have tags and tag cost but Maui for instance in area a says to hogs and two goats per day and any deer on public may be taken regard less of number and sex taken. But when you look to buy tags they only have tags for purchase on lanai, Kauai and Hawaii islands. Does that mean on Maui there are no tags needed on Maui?

I don't know about Maui specifically but it has been on my radar to hunt one day.  I think you're on the right path.  Getting a straight answer can be challenging for sure.

My son and I were able to diy axis deer on maui. Hunting license was required but no tags or bag limits. It was a few years ago so it may have changed. Hard part without a guide is getting access but we had a connection. Gun laws are weird so archery is a good call.

I hunted molokai this winter and found a pile of deer.  We were DIY and killed a couple of deer including a decent buck.

It was easy and super fun.  There are loads of deer around and permission was pretty easy to obtain

For all you successful hunters, is it easy to donate the meat somewhere after the hunt?

How’d you go about bringing it back? Just freeze it and put it in a cooler? What was the cost for that?

Bone out the meat and put it in gallon ziplock bags.  Get a good freeze on it and put it in a hard-sided cooler, soft-sided cooler, cardboard box, etc.   You can check it as baggage or bring it as a carry-on depending on the size and weight of your container.  Cost is the same as any other baggage.
