Harbor Freight sells PB Blaster by the gallon for by far the best price. That is good to soak anything in that has rust. A mild solution of bleach in water is good for stains. I buy more 320 grit than any other sandpaper and rarely use 220 and even less 180. I’d stick with 320 grit, it will be fine. USE SANDING BLOCKS, never freehand sand a stock. I talk a lot about it in the link posted in the Stevens 44 1/2 I redid the stock on that I posted here. There are a lot of photos, but if you need more or tips PM me and I’ll see what I can find in other projects I have posted on or can maybe walk you through it.
