Blacktail buck down
«
on:
October 27, 2010, 04:21:34 PM »
So went out this morning and was able to get a fast shot at my biggest blacktail to date. Kinda new to this timber ghost hunting, shot plenty of whitetail and mule deer, so it kinda became personal.
Not saying I got this style of hunting figured out but we'll see if I can repeat next year.
Got this weekend and late buck to try and guide my boy and future son-in-law to success. Meat in the freezer.
Thanks to all for helping this eastern washington transplant with all the good advice. Gonna taste good.

Thanks guys,They seemed to be kicking around a little this morning, caught him crossing in some reprod. Keep after them, I think I put more miles on the boots this year than any other chasing blacktail, cruised timber and snuck reprod and creeped the brush. Finally got one that I knew was around. could say skill, but that remains to be seen.

Nice buck
But I hope you are't disappointed when you eat one for the first time.
They do have a more wild taste then mulies or whities, or that's has been my experiance at least.
