Cabelas Mounting kit
« on: January 31, 2011, 03:48:48 AM »
Ied like to start off by saying ive never done anything like this before but i just saw a mounting kit online at cabelas and it said it was under 50$ i was wondering how well it worked and how they looked. i fut the skull off and have about 3-4 inches of bone that hold the antlers together. anyone ever used one of these kits? my neighbor is a taxidermist and im pretty sure he would give me a really good deal but i thought it might be cool being able to say i did it ya know? any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I do not spend a whole lot of time looking at the do-it-yourself antler kits that you can buy from Cabelas, Wholesale Sports, etc.  The ones I have seen in the past though are cheap low quality garbage.  Posting a link to the one you are looking at would help in determining it's quality.

So I went to Cabelas and found a couple new kits that I havn't seen before.  They may be new though.  These ones actually look pretty decent.
