Should be a great day for it!  This is best weather to hunt blackies in.  Rain + wind + blacktail bucks = success!  Good luck!

I think you need the rain to get them big boys to spring out of the ground......kinda remind me of mushrooms.

Seen 5 doe's and 1 small spike or should I say "Vail Special"  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

16 bucks and 2 doe's was the count at the check station at 2:30.
Most were spike and 2 points, nothing impressive that I seen.

went to vail today, saw 7 deer 2 small bucks 5 does, i watched the 2 bucks for a few minutes and was just ready to move when a truck with a kid in it pulled up, i showed the kid the bucks and the shooting began. 4 shots later and he got the smaller of the 2 bucks, a spike but he was pumped about it . i still have the last 5 days of season so hopefully i can pull something out.

havent seen any antler yet.. went out and got nice and wet for nothing though.. a couple times. First time I realized my scope was useless in the rain and so were my binoculars. Second time I took my Mosin M44 in the woods. Iron sights dont fail. Well that made me realize I need another rifle with iron sights. I put a bid on a sporterized mauser .30-06 lol

saw 4 total yesterday.Saw a nice buck yesterday just couldnt get a shot! I took too long judging if it was a buck worth shooting. it was only about a 100 yard shot. saw one doe today and it was right at dark. pretty slow weekend.

Seen bucks most every day out. Must be my lucky season for seeing bucks. Or because I'm looking for bigger bucks this year Murphy's law says I'm going to see two and three points everytime I go out.
I love rainy day hunts. Put on the muck boots and rain gear. Grab the shotty filled with slugs and start crawling around the thick areas that you normally can never hunt because of the noise.
Rain is the great equalizer agaist the ears and noses of them elusive blackies.
