Sullivan Lake Burbot!
« on: July 17, 2008, 12:01:35 AM »
My family and I just spent three days camping and fishing on Sullivan Lake up north of Spokane, wow there is some pretty good fishing in that lake, but random... I had never fished for or caught a burbot in my life, but a couple hours later I had half a bucket of 16"-24" in fish. We fished at night from my boat using a silver spec 3/4 oz jig with as much worm as you could fit on the hook on the south end of the lake. We found a shelf out there where it went from 50-60' of water to 110-150' of water in just a few yards. we found the fish stacked on that ledge. Good luck, It was a great random fishing experience, good eating to...

Sounds like fun.  Never fished open water for the ling.  Did some ice fishing a few years ago on Palmer Lake, jiggin' and setlines, mostly night fishing. .  Still got some of my riggin'.  Rules have changed some since then :chuckle: :dunno:  they are good eating.

Sorry, wish I would have had my camera with me, I had never caught one of the critters before. Next time I go I will make sure I take the camera.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or destroy it, piss on it and walk away!
