2010, opening morning in the Strawberry Wilderness of Oregon. 

Nice buck.  DIY?  Did you see a good amount of bucks in there?

Miles, yes it was DIY.  Only a couple small bucks on the hoof but did see a few other dandies come out from other guys that packed in.  Shot my buck opening morning and only spent the first couple days hunting the wilderness before moving onto our other spots.  My dad and I have hunted and spent a considerable amount of time over in the Murderer's Creek Unit/Strawberries and have seen some very nice bucks in and outside of the wilderness.  I've been fortunate to take two other 4 pts. in that country but outside of the Wilderness.

I'll be up there in a couple years for a dall sheep/grizzly combo hunt.  Great Dall and beautiful country.

The last 3 years we have hunted a lot harder in the pasayten wilderness. we have definitely had some missed opportunities at some way bigger bucks but that's how hunting goes. I have attached my father and I 2012 wilderness bucks, my father and brothers 2013 bucks, and my 2014 high buck hunt deer and my dads 2014 regular season wilderness buck. they have all come out of the same area and we saw a total of 17 bucks last year. My dad missed twice at a easily 190" deer from how he describes it at 36 yards. I am super excited for September to get here.
