I'm passing Bone but marking with GPS. Lets see if you and Popes tutorials are sinking in for me. "Dont worry about the spread" he doesnt look that wide to me, Pope said to look for the ears to be framed by the inside of the paddles, this guy looks to be right at that mark.
"Paddle length is more important" I could be wrong but from this angle they dont look to be very long.
"7 or more points are important" again this is not the best angle but it looks to be a 5X5? with 3 brows on one side and split on the other.
The one thing I know he has that I am looking for are the brows, Pope said to make sure he has split brows and he does.
Well? Do you kick me in the ars for passing up a 30 yard broadside arrow shot?

Wow! You're selective! Remember that Shirias Moose is the smallest subspecies of the moose.

While not a moose tag holder, I wouldnt take that bull with either a bow or a rifle till the last day. I would wait till the bitter end for it.

Good fronts, but not terrribly long paddles, but you'll make up some with the fronts. Not a lots of points, paddle width is pretty good. Probably not a first week or two shooter if I had the tag in my pocket.

Tough choice, especially early on, he's got the forked brows, the knubs on top, from teh angle its hard to tell teh length of the paddle and the width with his ears up, but he's got a great cape and I love the big brows on the front end, my tag is filled.
I'll be curious to find out a little more about this bull, but he just became my desktop.

Hell, outside of the ears and nose, that moose looks very edible to me. I have never been able to eat any kind of horn or antler. He's dead in my sights if I had a tag.

That's a really close call. His paddle length isn't that long and that's his deficiency as well a spread. His palm brows are very nice. The rack overall looks small. I would guess his spread at 38-40".
Here's my conservative score:
palm length L 18
palm length R 18
Palm width L 8
Palm width R 8
points L: 7
points R 7
spread 38
base L: 7
base R: 7
Total Score: 118"
So if my conservative score is 120 then my "reaching" score would be about 130". He isn't B&C but a good respectable bull. I would pass.

Well first of all, I need to smack Rob in the back of the head. If you have this guy in bow range take him. This angle does wonders to fool you with overall paddle length. First lesson, this is a veiw often presented with. Try to resist popping him in the nose. He's a
bit
bigger than Popes guestimate. His brows are long out fornt and that really adds to the score. In fact, his brows add about 12 inches to that overall length score on both sides then quite a bit more than the 18 on the main paddle. This is a good 140 bull and a definite trophy for an archer, and even a rifle guy should be happy with this guy. The reason I posted this bull is this is the kind that is going to haunt you. Yep, there will be bigger, but there will be much smaller ones too. Regular tag, I'd have dumped him for sure archery equipment. Rifle most likely. Raffle tag, I'd still be hunting.

Id like to see a side profile of his antlers. I like the looks of his big brows! Did you take that picture Bone?
