Stolen Trail cam in Hancock.

Went up tonight to grab my trail cam to find out some low life son of a bitc$ took my camera.  I cant believe that in an area where we buy a permit for $350 to access an area where limited people can go and people still take someone hard earned money.  This really pisses me off.  I just bought that camera and paid a good amount for it.  So if you are on here and you took a camera in Hancock in the last few weeks your a real piece of *censored*!

I felt the same as you when one of mine was taken in there a couple of years ago. Mine was in a bear box screwed to a stump with long screws. They just pried it off and you could see where the wood was splintered where the screws were.

Sorry to hear you lost you equipment, but with the thousand plus permits up there I would imagine there are more than a couple thieves running around.  I would be very careful about my placement in the future not that you need to be reminded now with some *censored* stealing your gear.

sorry to hear that. Placement i don't believe counts for much. i have one that is a mile from any road in the brush and i still caught a guy walking by it. Thankfully he didn't notice it. i also use python locks on all my cameras religiously

Ya the placement was good. In a walk in area a couple miles in then in the reaprod a half mile off the road.  Will be locking everything up for now on for sure. Thanks for all the sympathy guys. I will be posting signs at the gates for the guys that took it. Have heard of at least two more cases in the same area.

There are a bunch of thieves every where. I found that they will leave my stuff if I mark it up so badley with name and such that it has no retail value to them. And that I can tell its mine right away.
One thing I got was a branding iron with my camp logo. Like my avatar. No one else has it. It is one of akind. I brand everything with it in clear view.
But I never resell gear.
They would have a hard time removing it. Since it is burned a 1/8 inch into the surface.
Some folks though just need to mess with other peoples stuff.

You sure it wasn't a bear that took it.  I had a bear take two of mine.  I know it was a bear as I recovered one of them.  It had been chewed on pretty good.  It was a brand new camera and last a whole 20 hours on the tree.

Sure it was not a bear.  We laid a small log next to tree and wrapped both with the strap and it was still leaning on the tree. I looked around for a bit and did not see any sign of a camera. The sad thing is Saturday after our archery shoot we stopped by cabelas and i bought a bear box.  Now i have no camera.

I had one of mine stolen out of there this year, really pisses me off.  I had mine locked up and they cut my python lock. I wanted to see how easy the pythons are to cut and a saw cuts through them like butter.

there are no secret spots up there,all roads were open for spring bear,so many new eyes were in the woods.lots of contractors,pickers and thinners, sucks to have things taken foresure.most of them stick like sore thumbs I see in there.anything I leave I expect to be taken,so I wont be pissed..

I have put stickers on my cameras.. one said "this cam is equipped with a gps chip..Ill find you."  another.." I hope u stole the 2 other cams on the road catching plate numbers"

I like your idea huntnnw! And spring bear was not open in the bridge gate side.  No matter what people shouldn't be stealing our stuff.  I dont live my life thinking people are all bad and my stuff is going to get taken if i leave it somewhere.  I thought all of us hunters were all on the same team. I guess not.

i always worry about mine in there, just pulled it yesterday for new batts and stuff after a 3month soak. sorry to hear the low-lifes got yours..
