If you went to Point Defiance to launch, you could have watched 90% of the people turn around and leave when they found out they could not park in the park, it was all reserved for the Taste of Tacoma  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Had to park outside the park or $20 for parking in the reserved lot  :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

But we did limit

My favorite is the guy who starts his motor and leaves it running for several minutes before he puts his boat in the water. Makes some great snap, crackle, and popping sounds. :yike: I've seen it happen twice.

...or the guy that drops his pot 10 feet from yours when there is 100 yards to the next pot  :bash:

Or how about seeing the smiles on my wife's and kids faces ( 3 and 2 yr old boys) when you pull up a pot loaded with crab. And when we get home to enjoy these tasty little creatures, I cant hardly get a bite in without having them climb all over me for it.They love it!!

It makes memories that are priceless for years to come. And I hope to pass down the tradition of hunting, crabbing, fishing and so on like I had. Now that's why I enjoy opening day of crabbing.

Goodluck to all on your crabbing adventures!!

So hey.....regarding kids............

My boy is six. I'd like to take him out. Does he only need a catch card? I'd like to run four pots, two each of us. I can get an extra float with his/my name on it. Can anyone spell it out for me?

Anyone fishing for crab in Puget Sound must purchase a crab endorsement, which is free to fishers under age 15. All fishers age 15 or older also must carry an applicable Washington fishing license to fish for crab anywhere in Washington. More licensing information is available online at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov.

That's from wdfw's site.  Hope it helps.

Getting excited. Picking up my sons youth license and catch card after work. The boy, his Leggo action figures, and I are hitting it in the morning.

If anyone makes it out today and cares to share I'd be interested in a crab report.

Set the pots out last night, going to check them this afternoon. Looking forward to some fresh Dungys cooked on the beach. Just gotta love the first batch of the year.

Good luck to all.
