Finney creek road open ?

Does anyone know if finney creek road is open went up there to scout two weeks ago and it was closed. :dunno:

I doubt if they will open it. They may open for a day at a time, but that would probably be the extent of it.

It is only washed out near the Concrete Sauk Valley Rd....I was on it last week came over on the 18 rd. from Darrington.  Went to the wash out then all the way back out the lower end of the 17 rd.

Thanks for the info.I need to find a road off south skagit to get up there i know their is another way just need to find it.

Just run down the south skagit hwy ..it is clearly marked ... not many bear left in this area because it is the only road open to all hunters  :bash: :bash: But go ahead and give it your best and see if you can proof me wrong  :dunno: :chuckle:

lol Me and my wife bought some land by cape horn see allot of elk but no bear or deer thought i would try to hunt close to are place to save on gas.Its been e few years since i have been up there so hopefully there is at least one bear left.

Cape Horn ... yeah you may see one anywhere around there ...bears are by the river at this time ...just have to explore a little  :tup:

My Dad lives just down the road from the upper end where it's washed out. Rumor has it that it will be awhile until its fixed. You can still get up there from the 18 road that takes off from 530 at Swede Haven or off the South Skagit East of Day Creek. 

If you know where to turn, the Stowe road gates may be open and you can get up there that way. If your coming from Concrete towards upper Finney, about the 5 mile mark, start looking for a road that goes up to the right. If I remember correctly, Longview Fiber owns that land and opens the gates during bear season. Dad is coming down in the morning, I will ask him if he noticed if the gate is open or not.

If you put these coordinates into google maps, it will show you about where the road takes off.

Just talked with my dad, the Stowe road is still locked up. Apparently Sierra Pacific owns it now with no plans to open the gates.  >:(
