Probably in the minority here, but minus the chance for any closures, I pray for hot and dry. The hotter and drier the better.

I kind of agree on some levels.  I have a nice creek fed wallow to hunt if it's bad

I'm with you. In my experience, bears are like us. Sunny weather brings them out. I do hope for a good 2 days of heavy rain to avoid the closures though.

Lol, no, I hike my tail off. It is just that we have always seen way more elk when we have long, hot, dry summers. Wet summers and the elk are not really in the area that I hunt. Also, the elk are way more spooky in the rain. It is o.k. to have a long, dry, hot summer and then rain just before to quiet things up a bit, but if the temps are in the 80's when I am hunting, I am happy.

And when I say "we", I mean my father and I. He no longer hunts but he roots for a dry summer for me. He is on my side even though I out-hunted him all my life, haha, and he still says I cheated some how:)

It looks like the forecast is for some cooler weather with considerable cloudiness in the next week or so in SW WA. Hopefully there is some precip!!

Well I hunt Eastside and it is always hot lol.  Except in the AM.  So I prepare and expect hot weather every year.  8)  Those unexpected cool days are always welcome!

I overheard a couple of guys over at skookum yesterday talking about how the state might shut down ALL OF ITS LANDS over the entire state before the Holliday weekend if we don't get rain soon. They were saying it's a knee jerk reaction to the houses being burned in the I-90 fire.

Anyone hear anything about this?

I think it's going to rain last few days of aug and first couple of sept so we wil be fine.

Sept. usually brings in the cool nights, but days are still warm here in E. Washington.  And it will have to rain a lot before the dry vegetation stops sucking up the water.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
