Whatcom or skagit?  Last year another HUNTWA member saw one in Whatcom.

Not often. My son saw it last year. I can probably guess about where you were at.  :chuckle:

I was in whatcom county... Up in the chowder ridge unit.. Pretty cool sighting I thought it was a a colored phase bear at first ... But as I got closer he got smaller... And his body language was really sparatic and alert to everything

Myself and a friend saw one in Chelan county last month.

I saw one up Boulder Pass by Curlew about 9 years ago. I thought it was a small bear too. Pretty cool. I told the WDFW and of course they said it wasn't. Typical answer from them.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Does anyone have an idea on why they do that. It seems stupid just to treat the people that give them money like dirt.

I'll vouch, we both thought it was a bear at first.  The thing would keep standing up alert, almost acting nervous, then go back to doing whatever it was doing.  It was silvery on the back with a blocky head, and had a long bushy tail.  I had the scope out to snap pics of it if it was a bear, once we realized it wasn't a bear I didn't take pics.  It's captured on the gopro but can't see detail, just its size.  I wish I took pics through the scope now, didn't think they were uncommon.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

I am with 3nails.  I don't doubt it but am a little skeptical.  There are a lot of marmots on top of Chowder that very much resemble a wolverine in the way they move, look, and color patterns are.  Obvously smaller than a wolverine but size can be deceiving at a distance.  Certainly not inmplying that you didn't see one but would love to see a pic.
