What if, it wasn't a quad (atv) at all?  What if he shot from the quad on his leg?   :chuckle:

I would like to say that I personally think a 243 isn't a bad round for a black bear if that is all you have.  Put the shot in the vitals and only shoot from reasonable distances and you shouldn't have any issue harvesting a black bear.

That said, it wouldn't be my first choice by any means.

 :yeah: A 243 will work if you have a perfect shot. It can't be a rushed shot, or a bad angle, or at long distances, or off the quad on your leg.  :chuckle:
