Enjoying the Crunchy Woods?
« on: September 09, 2012, 07:56:50 PM »
OMG!!! :yike:  Its soooo crunchy and loud in the woods lately. The little bit of rain made a little difference for the leaves anyway, but not the twigs. Even with all the cracking and popping we did today we still managed to stalk a bedded herd to 80 yrds in the big timber. A gargantuant bodied 6x6 :yike:  and his 12 cows live to see anther day. We caught up to them again and dang chrunchies got us again :bash:. Very exciting and exausting day! :)  Cant wait for MORE rain! (DID I JUST SAY THAT :o) Theres always next time

Its been helping us close the distance between us and the bulls when we get one going. We just charge up/down the hill using cow calls a little and it just gets them more excited.

He was not interrested in any calls, but one cow came our way. I was giving him the puny spike squeel hoping he would come kick my arse and my buddy shoots him. Usally when that tight in they bugle and cows talk ,not this time. :'( I guess you don't get the size of a tank for being stupid!

Yeah I don't know why everyone loves the big bugles, you have to pack them in and you sound like the biggest elk in the woods. :twocents:

:yeah:
We were in them all weekend making tons of racket as we closed the distance.  I like loud for elk but hate it for deer.  Crunchy snow is the worst.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
