In defense of the the no pics, i did have my camera and out of respect asked DoubleJ if he wanted any, he said no and i left it at that, he did take pics of his knife work  :chuckle: and i think he should post a pic of the meat hanging in his cold storage at home.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Congrats on the deer and sorry to hear and see about the finger  :yike: :yike:.  Sounds like a fun trip otherwise.

I will be sure to bring the whole pharmacy when we head out for yotes this winter.  I never leave home with out staples so we should be good.  But, even then maybe I should do the skinning :chuckle:

Sounds like you got better penetration from your arrow this time.  Must have hit something really hard on the first one.  Liver, diaphram and one lung not a bad shot at all.  Were those fresh blades?  46#/27" and two deer with two shots.  Sounds like you are getting it done  Very nice!

Need to start taking some pictures of dead critters though.  You know the H-W rules...no pictures - it didn't happen.  You do have a voucher so you get a pass. I guess   But two H-W members and no pictures :dunno:  Sounds a little fishy to me :tung:

Lol.  We were up on a mountian with no cell service too :chuckle:  fresh blades.  Only bone it hit was one blade cut about 1/8" into a rib on the exit side.

56lbs cleaned and aging.  Thanks to my dad who came out and peeled the meat off for me.  I thought I was doing good at about 1.5hrs to strip the meat off.  He was a machine.  Made better cuts than I ever have and had the whole thing done in about 40 minutes.

About the best entrance angle I could remember.  I put the blade in the rib where the blade cut it and it naturally went in this direction so I can tell the direction was right.  Angle is a best guess

Here's a shot that shows how low it exited.

I am pretty sure that at whatever angle it went through it killed the deer, yep i will even go out on a limb and say that deer died.... :chuckle:
For anyone that thinks that 50lbs or less wont pass through, think again, it did, i was surpised a bit i even thought i saw the arrow sticking out after the shot then realized it was blood i saw, i even found his arrow were she was standing...

No reason to struggle with 65lbs when 49 lbs will do just fine

Are the nightmares going away yet?  Last time I road in a Las Vegas cab it took a week before I stopped waking up thinking I was going to be in a crash.  My mind just could not shake it.  Pulling dead bodies, including friends, out of the ocean without a single lost minute of sleep.  Two trips in a Vegas cab and  :yike:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
