I had a Ruger P97DC .45 and really liked it...good entry level pistol that will not let you down  :twocents:

Kinda like the ford of handguns. Nothing too special or fancy but they get the job done.

i've owed the p95 and the p97 (.45 version) the p97 was the lightest kicking .45 acp i ever shot. both guns were accurate and reliable, and I shot them a lot. They are like a lot of double action autos, thick and bulky through the slide. The only reason i went away from them as carry guns was the long double action trigger pull. I had to work a lot harder at it to get good results on the first shot than with something like an XD.. For the real reasonable prices they sell for they are hard to beat if you dont mind the long double action trigger first shot.

There is a member that put one up for sale a few days ago.

I had a P90 in a .45 and it was a love/hate relationship with that gun. Loved the feel of it in my hand but could not hit the broadside of a barn with it. And before anyone gets funny, yes it was the gun I actually am a pretty good shot.

I bought my  P95 DC at least 13 years ago and still have it and shoot it. In fact its under my sweatshirt now. I love to carry this gun.  Not a fancy or beautiful gun by any means, but I'm ugly so I don't mind ugly guns. They seem to be built well and mine is reliable. Didn't look at your location, but if you are nearby get in touch with me and you can shoot mine.

Reliable and solid but the trigger pull is damm hard! My buddy has one and I thought the safety was on first time I shot it.

One of the 'tanks' that Ruger makes. It'll run fine for many thousands of rounds if you take care of it. There are a few little tricks that can make the trigger pull a bit better, but don't expect it to be a single action 1911.  They're a bit bulky for smaller hands.
