Really freakin cold on my line today. Got about half my line uncovered, it was a balmy -39 below on the upper part on my line. Nice and warm in the valley at -12. Ended up with a nice surprise as I got started this afternoon. Got my second silver of the season. Got a few more sets in. Trail sets become the way to go once we get deep snow.

Very Nice Teacherman but you make sure you keep that cold up there. Hunted in 30 below before with a wind and I could think of better temp to hunt in.

My day actually ended early when I fell through the ice in a creek up to my hips, overflow. Quickly got out and rolled in the sugar dry snow to wick the moisture off me. Quickly made it back to my jeep, only took about 45 minutes 😕 Lesson of the day super cold snow sucks water away from anything and it doesn't matter how cold it is overflow can happen.

good choice on the coffee
Very nice colors on that fox. Just curious- Do you do any predator calling or do you just stick to trapping?

Just to say that tm is getting a foxpro call and a decoy this yr with a nice 3 mil candlepower light and a 1 mil candle pwr whitel light. Don't own a 223 yet but will have a 17 hmr and a 243 with us. Any suggestions on a load for the 243. Not reloading this year but something over the counter that will not tear up a yote too bad. He knows about that portion of his christmas by the way.

You kill me stump, lol. Best fur load in a .243 is a solid 80 gr loaded down to under 2600 fps. I'm not saying this is the best long range load but I've got several buddies in AK that do this and it doesn't blow out rib cages. Overall it's still a little bit hefty for fur.
To answer the other question yes to predator calling. It's just an issue of getting to the area I like to call about 3 hours out but has tons of wolves and lynx. Have a couple days planned the end of January going back in on machines and staying in a remote cabin.
