Interesting...... Do you not use dive sticks?

I've found from just watching rats they will ver out of the channels with a dive stick. It's like a chin lifter on a snare. Works great for bush trapping but in rural areas fox avoid them like the plague. Rats spend most of there time swimming the bottom of there runs. That's why you can see the warm trails. Trial and error got me here. 200 plus rats last year doing it.

I will experiment next year with that. It would save time not putting them in.

It's nice focussing on rats! I think I'm going to go put couple beaver sets in today also. Found another pic of a BEAUTIFUL cherry red fox I got a few weeks back. Not sure why I never posted it. All k9 is done for the yr for me between my partner and I we only got about 1/2 what we wanted. We are thinking somewhere around 50 fox, lol 13 yotes, 1 wolverine and 3 cats. In the water department we are around 50 beaver, 9 otter and not sure how many rats. My buddies the water trapper. I play under the ice a little but he loves it!!! Well I guess I've got more traps to go set ;)

Castor mound, #3 LS on a 1/8" cable with slide loc leading into 6' of water and a 50 lb sack of rocks ;)

They are on a main river bank in a high beaver traffic area.

There are ways to use these traps in WA. That's why I am asking. I set a lot of those down here as well. Can't beat a good old burlap sack full of rocks.

Very cool! Didn't know you could that makes things easier. My partner checked them yesterday when I was out snow machining and we got a double in them ;)
