Hunt Whidbey Island????
« on: October 16, 2012, 08:00:27 AM »
Just found out I can use my bow during modern season in firearms restriction area. That being said I am trying to find a place to hunt whidbey, the base is out of the question since they are only doing the archery season, even though I am using a bow it would be during modern season. I know it is mostly private and I am way behind the power curve, I have done some door knocking to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for a honey hole maybe just a starting point, feel really awkward asking to hunt in the middle of the season without knowing if the person would even entertain the idea especially on Whidbey.

Do you have a modern tag or archery tag.

Green bank farm is a non profit that I believe allows people access.. call and ask. also "the Kettles" area on 20 between oak harbor and coupeville is public and allows hunting.. there are hiking trails and such in there, so I dont know how it will be.. but its a place to start..

Drive around and look for properties with gardens and apple trees. I have found that most of them will give you the ok. BTW with the bow you aren't limited to big properties, so anything out of city limits should be fine, just be sure of your capability. There isn't much worse than having a deer pile up 20 feet from kids playing on their backyard swing set.
