Entiat late hunt, UPDATED
« on: October 27, 2012, 03:53:38 PM »
Alright fellow hunters. I haven't ever posted much on this site but do a lot of looking at everyone else's post. Im no stranger to hunting been at it for 20+ years. Just curious what I can expect for bucks up in the entiat during the late season rifle hunt. Im headed up opening weekend to do some scouting and then head back the last 2 weekends to hunt it. I hope to get one bigger then this buck I killed in Oregon last month but I think it will be a tough task to follow. Some guys tell me if you see a buck in the 160s you better think about taking it. Just curious what you fellas think.

Should be a good year as the weather here in the Wenatchee valley is bad.  The higher elevation is getting hit with snow and the bucks should be moving.  Definitely not an impossible task to beat that toad, but don't know that I would pass on one that is even close to that.

Good Luck and make sure to post pics with a story.

Hey thanks for the advice. You guys are backing up what I already thought anything remotely close to this size will go down. I'll be sure to keep you posted on how it goes. I've been watching the snotel site and seen there has been some higher elevation snow. Should help things out hopefully.

Make sure you do a search of the "Entiat" on this site, you will find LOTS of info. Good luck on your hunt.

I was up there today and it was snowing at Silver Falls. The high country has been getting some serious weather already, this could be a great late hunt this year. Good Luck

Not sure I would shoot the first 160 class buck I see with that tag.  If you hunt hard and cover some ground you should see some 180 class bucks.  I would be patient.

I'd go 180, and that said, who cares. If you see something you like, its your tag and your hunt. Enjoy it!   The deer are dropping from this weather.  This should be epic for the late tag holders.
