With the snow thats been falling there is no way i would shoot the first 160 buck I saw.  I went with a buddy that had this tag in 2007 and there was no snow that year and we saw two bucks over 160.

edard i was just saying there is nothing wrong with a 160+ buck it all depends on how much time you have and what YOU want! sure people are saying they would hold out for 180 but thats easy to say when they dont have the tag you do. thats like saying if they had a blue mts tag they would hold out for a 380 when there is nothing wrong with a realistic 340+ main thing is just have fun and be safe sometimes we all get caught up in the score and that can take awawy from the hunt just my 2 cents! good luck caint wait to see pics! happy hunting!!!!

Good luck with your tag. I'll be in the Chiwawa unit Thursday looking for mine this weekend. If that doesn't pan out, I have the 8th-20th sceduled on vac to get it done.

That Chiwawa tag is should be an amazing tag to have this year.  Good Luck and cant wait to see pics.  I have seen some serious bruisers in there.

Just back from my first weekend of the hunt. It was a pretty quick day in a half of hunting but a good time. We seen 14 bucks on Saturday 3 four points and one 3 point which was the biggest buck we seen all weekend. This morning we seen  another 4 point and a 3 point and seen a nice 4 point killed but another hunter, he also said there was a 7x9 killed on Saturday. Anyway can't wait to get back at it next weekend for three days. Some colder weather would be nice but either way it's a great hunt and am sure I will have a good time with friends and family.

I have seen pics of a 7 x 9 killed this week.  Reminded me of a moose!  Good luck with your permit!

I'm pretty sure its the one we named "Moosy" a couple years ago. I don't have permission to post the harvest pic but here he is in 2010.
