Just got back from a run and saw a 4 point trotting down the road in my neighborhood.  Was acting like a rutting moron.  He stopped and let me walk to about 25 yards then went back to trotting.  I'm in liberty lake for what it's worth

They're going nuts here right now! (mt) One of the best chasing phases happening that I've seen in years!

Thanksgiving week in Liberty Lake can be quite entertaining with the rut.  Every year the bucks show up in town this week, dumb as hell  :chuckle:

I wish I could say the same for where I was at in 124 the past 3 days  :bash:  3 days of hard hunting, saw 4 deer

Just got back last night from 113.  Didn't seem like the rut had started there yet.  Saw a lot of does, but no bucks showing interest.  When I hunted the blackpowder season there, after Thanksgiving, the rut was going strong then.  I thought this time I could rattle some in just out of curiosity, but no takers....  :dunno:

Hunted 4 days and came home because I was sick of the Patchy Fog.  And the weather was forecast to get worse for the next 4 days.   :bash:

The snow and cold snap we had a week ago got the ball rolling in motion but I think the rain and warmer weather we have had recently definitely put the skids on the rut. I was up in 113 yesterday and I jumped a decent 3 or 4 point with a doe that never stopped to offer me shot and a doe with a fawn but that was it. They didn't seem to be moving much and alot of that depends on the weather.

Grunted in and shot a small 4pt in the Huckleberry sat.  Seen alot of deer but few bucks. They weren't exactly glued on the does yet were I was. Off to Idaho now to try for a big one!

I think you're right about the weather putting the skids on things.  The first few days of the season were looking really good.  As soon as it warmed up and started raining it seemed like it died off quick.

Im in 113 right now and I would agree on the rut taking a skid. I did see some chasing, but it was the younger bucks. The big boys will wait until the does REALLY ready and the swoop in to do his business. That part just hasn't happened yet.
Aim small, miss small.

10-15 Nov. I had a lot of mature buck daylight movement on cams (unfortunately I couldn't hunt those days). One thing I will say about this rain....it sucks...... Tomorrow we will be back at it again...embracing the suck.

I can't speak for everywhere but the areas I hunt, the rut is only as good as the weather. The nastier and colder it gets the more activity you generally see this time of year!

Unit 204; On Friday the 16th we saw a 4 point glued to a doe & would not leave her even though we were only 30-40 yards from them in the truck. On Sunday the 18th spotted another 4 point with a doe and he followed her until he couldn't anymore.

Just got back from 101 and it was definitely on in the stand I was in. I chose not to shoot but 3 of the 5 in camp tagged out. I was in 121 yesterday and walked up on a buck that was with a doe. Neither seemed to care much.

The rut is 100% on. Had a 170ish buck chasing a doe yesterday. The rain may dampen the spirits but it's not going to dampen the rut.

I hope the videoing still goes in the rain. Can't wait to see what you guys stick. Who's shooting first? Or are there two cameras?
