Squid fishing only done at night?
How important is tide?

Yep night time.  Tide, as I recall, is most important if there is no water there when you want to fish.  Steilacum is pretty shallow at low tide, but don't know about other places.

You can get jigs at some of the sporting goods stores, but, if you can, buy the ones that look like they have bent pins around them (homemade) as they seem to hold the squid better than the short, fat, spiked commercial ones.  I thought someone posted about a person that sold them at one of the docks.  I have made my own in the past.
. There is a guy that sells alot of jigs a edmonds.  Seen him a couple times there.
Friday night edmonds was on fire after 10 pm i heard.  I went sat night and caught a couple.  As usual the people at the end of the peir were catching alot.

All I got tonight was soaked. I was down there for 3 hours. There were 8 guys and only 10 or 12 squid caught in that time.
I'll go check it out again in a couple of weeks.

Should have been there at 9:30, everyone pretty much limited out.  I've never seen so many squid in one place.

That's usually what I hear anyways.....   :chuckle:

Went out to Pier 88 last night. The tides were all wrong, but we got into them a couple times. Of course the minute I had to leave, we started pulling them out 3 at a time, but I got enough for last night.

Sorry for the blurry pictures, I think I had hypothermia when I was taking these  :chuckle:
