Elk on the Olympic peninsula???
« on: November 05, 2012, 09:14:18 PM »
Hello I was thinking about going out to GMU 602 603 601 area. Are my chances of finding the elk out there good? where are the elk hiding? Are they up high or down low. Any advice is greatly appreciated!  Anyone got any honey holes that they want to give up? Thanks

"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

Hunted hard in the Goodman (612) for both Saturday seen 5 cows for about 3 seconds as they filed out of a clear cut, Sunday was no better, seen 1 bull and it was a spike, spent time in the Sol Duc (607) and Clearwater (615) and seen a grand total of one set of cougar tracks !! Rained hard though so we got to change into dry clothes several times.

Here is the dry track during a monsoon so it was definitely fresh !!
