first buck
« on: November 06, 2012, 08:04:23 PM »
it was taken the 18 i think :IBCOOL:
so we were siting at the bottom of this hill and we looked up to see a doe and a yearling on top of the hill about 400 yrds away and we were thinking that if she came down to pop her, but she decided to bed on top of the hill and watch us :bash: anyway we had sat there for about an half an hour when i looked up and there he was eating and working his way towards a bush that was about 10 yards long. we had waited about another 15 to 20 minutes when he finally stepped out, he was still about 400 yards away with about 20 minutes of light left and then he must have caught wind of a different doe or something and he started heading down hill. as i was getting ready he kept coming, so then he was about 300 to 325 away and we had about 5 minutes if light left, he was quatering to me when i let him have it :IBCOOL: he had laid down right where i shot him, so me and garry (owner of wild country guide service) walked up there and right as we were about to leave he said my name and i turned around and he was laying down but not dead, he had got up very slowly and we were about 30 yards away and he did not want to get up but he did and he trotted about another 50 yards and that was the last time we had seen him. so we went back and had dinner and then about 10:30 we headed back up there and garry had looked for about an hour and thats when we saw the signal to come up( his blinking light) so i was the first one up there with garry and he pointed his light to where he was :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: he didnt go any further from where we last saw him
thank wild country guide service for everything and i look forward to it again
and i had also killed a doe thanks to the second deer tag for that unit

Nice work!! That's a lot of good eating and a nice buck too.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
