When I was turkey hunting I kid you not I came across 2 of those in the west fork of the teanaway river

They nest and hang out on rivers from here all the way to Montana. Only duck that migrates East to West

Yes, only one per year.

I was fortunate enough to take 9 in one season before the new regs came out limiting one per year. Mounted 5 of them.  I don't hunt them anymore as they are one of those species that can be wiped out by over hunting.  Beautiful birds!

Beautiful.  The woodie of divers.  Almost too pretty to shoot.
