My dad and I went out after my little brothers wrestling match and found a lone bull track. It came from the top end corner of a clear cut into some thick reprod. We knew on the other side of the reprod there was another older clear cut that we could see some openings, so we walked about 1 mile around to the gate and walked in about 3/4 of a mile to the unit. We glassed for about 45min and way across the canyon my dad had spotted the bull. We didn't have alot of time so we had to run uphill and back to the truck. We drove to the head end of the canyon where there is another gate and started our mile and a half sprint to where we had seen the bull last. When we got there we had about 45 min of shooting light left. We first spotted 2 cow about 100 yards below us and they caught our wind and began to take off across a little side canyon and about 10 cows appeard coming out of the canyon over the next ridge about 200 yards away. They all went single file over the ridge and the last cow stop and looked back down in the canyon then turned and went over the ridge. A few minutes later the bull came the same path as the cows. I put my cross hairs on him as he was walking twards the ridge and he stopped quartering away. I squeezed the trigger and my dad said shoot it again, so I jacked another shell in and shot it again while it was running twards the ridge, It kept going and he told me to shoot it again, so I did and the bull took it's last step and fell. My first shot was behind the shoulder and so were my next two, but we didn't want him to get away. We got home about 2:00am with the bull. It was a long night of packing.
