Any guesses on this buck!?
« on: November 13, 2012, 04:49:12 PM »
Yeah another one of those :chuckle: So I saw Huntergregs post about guessing on scores for his buck and after seeing all the responses I figured what the heck I'll post up my muley from 2004.  :sry: Greg if I'm stealing your thunder! I've never scored or had this buck scored but I've been somewhat curious what he might be. After he was shot I did measure his spread and it was 27 3/4 if that helps.

170-175.  Really nice deer.

I'd have said 180 excpet for his front fork on his left side.  Probably be around 175-ish.  Gorgeous buck

This looks like one of the deceiving bucks, pretty wide and real tall, not overly deep forks so it doesn't look like it would score great. I'm gonna say 168 ish with the spread credit you gave, assuming its greatest inside spread not outside. Great buck, fat neck!

Yes it was measured inside spread. My guess was low 160s but I don't know. I really like pure clean typical bucks. To this day that front left fork still bothers me. I'm assuming he broke it off or something in velvet. Kind of a little pocket there.

Broken off makes sense, it looked really odd to me also, but broken off and a pocket would explain it.  Like I said before, a really nice deer and one to be proud of.

I'm not saying this in any way to be a smartass,  but if you're curious what he scores why don't you download a scoresheet from B&C and score it?  It's pretty easy to do a typical deer like this one.

:dunno:  Lol good question, honestly I don't know. I guess I've just never took the time to. Thinking about taking it to the big horn show in Spokane in March, maybe they'll do it.
