www.gpsfiledepot.com

Lots of free maps. Save the file and upload it to the Basecamp Garmin program on your desktop and then they transfer to your GPS. I got the GMU boundaries program and it's excellent.

Those are the big differences in the 610 vs the 650/655

lower range on the radio
no memory card ability

The 610 uses AA batteries, but the 650/655 can do that too if you order the battery adapter pack for it ($30)

The alkaline battery pack through Garmin is 19.95.

Some of the other cool things are texting between 655s and the 5 MP camera that plots the picture on your GPS. You can pre-program short texts and just select and send them. You can also send the pictures. The 5 watt radio is awesome and you can also see other hunters by scanning the radio.

blacktailcrzy, or anyone else, I've a 530hcx that I've been considering selling. Great radio and I've been real happy with it. I even have it loaded up with the Hunting gps plat map, which I recommend for anyone. I'm interested in an upgrade to the touchscreen and interested in what others think of it. Sounds good so far.

Im not sure the upgrade is worth the money considering what the 530 already does.  If you need these newer functions then sure.  They are both good stuff.  The Huntwa montana map is awesome and when this map is joined with birdseye sat image there is a huge advantage to a hunter.  Be warned I like to scan radio and see what others are up too! :chuckle:

yup.. not much of a differance. touchscreen that is 2.6" vs 2.2" non-touch, camera, unit-to-unit transfer with a little more features and that about it that I see.

Don't worry, I like to scan as well. I also know when I allow someone to see where I'm at or not!

I know what ya mean!  I wish I had a spare sometimes.  I dont know if you can hide/scramble radio on 655 rino like 530s.  The memory on 655 is huge, I have so much sat. imagery on it already!
MAGA!  Again..

So it sounds like I probably wouldn't be happy with a 610?  I think the 655 is out of her list range. Anything else to consider?
