Well, you guys are doing your typical B.S. This is what I did and it worked for me. The cat was tagged BEFORE the end of the season. I don't know why guys have to try to be so opinionated about something you don't have the facts about. Gives us a break. If you guys are such experts, then maybe you should be a taxidermist.  >:(

Damn . . . . . CAMPMEAT take a chill pill or a happy pill or something.  Maybe lay off the alcohol.

Humptulips IS AN EXPERT when it comes to small game and CITIES.

Also what a couple have said about freezing a cat whole is also true.  Putting them in the freezer whole doesn't give them an unlimited amount of time to have them mounted.  They will freezer burn.  They are a thin skinned animal and they will freezer burn faster than a Big Game animal.  Ears are typically the first thing to start freezer burning.  Than the toes.  These thin skinned animals can be a real PITA to split, turn, and flesh when they are freezer burned.

I personally wouldn't leave them in the freezer longer than you have to.  You should be pretty safe for 6 months as long as you properly wrap it to prevent the freezer burn.

. . . . . .and that is coming from a TAXIDERMIST!

Can't believe nobody mentioned this.......you can sell it to a local taxidermist, may get $150.00 for it.

Don't you have to get the pelt sealed within 3 days???
